Birding Itinerary

DAY 1 BUENOS AIRES (B, L, D)

Arrive in Buenos Aires. Private transfer from Ezeiza International Airport to hotel with English speaking guide. Lunch at La Estancia Restaurant.  Private transfer in/out and drink included.

Dinner and Tango Show at Carlos Gardel Corner.

International cuisine, regional dishes, desserts and a wide selection of Argentine wines will be offered to accompany the Tango show, where guests will experience the sensual dance of Tango, which reveals the spirit of Buenos Aires’ beginnings. All this held in a romantic and intimate atmosphere. Private transfers in/out and drinks included.

Accommodation in Buenos Aires, for 01 night: NH Jousten Hotel (or similar) std double room, breakfast included.

DAY 2 BUENOS AIRES – SAN CLEMENTE DEL TUYU (B)

Private transfer from Buenos Aires to San Clemente del Tuyu. 334 kms (4hrs) with English spBirdeaking guide and specialized in Bird watching. San Clemente  is on the southern tip of the Samborombon bay. The outer limit of the Rio de la Plata,  where Geography and habitat combine to create a site chosen by many species of migratory birds. Because of the abundance of invertebrates and larval stages or juvenile forms of fish and crustaceans, the estuarine waters of the Rio de la Plata and especially the muddy bottom of Samborombon bay offer rich feeding grounds for the birds. Accommodation in San Clemente for 02 nights: Fontainebleu Hotel (or similar) std double room, breakfast included.

DAY 3 SAN CLEMENTE (B)

Full Day excursion to Punta Rasa with English speaking guide.  Punta Rasa acts like a bird trap to birds accidentally strayed off their course or blown in from their home range by wind conditions. Some of the species that can be seen are: flamingoes, spoon-beaks, coscoroba swans, rheas, curlews

DAY 4 SAN CLEMENTE – BUENOS AIRES – POSADAS (B, D)

Private transfer from San Clemente del Tuyu to the domestic airport and fly to Posadas.  Upon arrival private transfer from Posadas to colony town of Carlos Pellegrini. Both land services with English speaking guide. This is a small community on the shores of the Iberian CarpinchosIberia Lagoon. Posada de la Laguna. The ranches in this area are the largest and most important in the province. The local gauchos costumes make a strong contrast with the herds of the Bradford and Brangus cattle, the traditional breed of the region. A very friendly atmosphere with exclusive rooms with private bathroom, large garden, swimming pool, dining room, living room, bar and a warm fire place, bicycles and a port. Accommodation in Carlos Iberian CardinalPellegrini for 03 nights: Posada de la Laguna (or similar) std double room, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 5 Ibera (B ,L ,D)

A full day exploring the Ibera Lagoon & Swamps a  boat  at dusk when wildlife is most
active. The wildlife show we see is fantastic with all the colors and sound. Rich in birds (380 different species), mammals like the swamps deer, swamps otter (aguara guazu), coaties, groups of Carayas monkeys and herds of the biggest rodent: the Carpincho (Capibara), and reptiles like the Black Caiman, the Yacare, big Iguanas and the Curiyu snake (8 mts. Long). Characteristic flora of this area are a combination of xerophilas and tropical vegetation, and the Irupe (Victoria Regia, or Giant Royal Water Lily which leaves can be 2 mts wide). Walks in the jungle and exploration of the swamps with a canoe seeing the various flora and fauna

Day 6 Ibera (B, L , D)

Today we explore one of the southern branches of the Ibera Swamps called "Miriñay" and "Yaqui Cua" combining jungle walks and swamp boat rides.Iberian Woodrail

Day 7 Carlos Pellegrini – San Ignacio – Puerto Iguazu (B, L, D)

Private transfer from Pellegrini to Puerto Iguazu visting the hidden San Ignacio Jesuit Ruins with English speaking guides.  Entrance fee to the Ruins and Iguazu National Park included. Lunch at local restaurant on the way included. Accommodation in Puerto Iguazu for 03 nights: Hotel Sheraton (or similar) Falls View double room, breakfast and dinner included.

Day 8 Iguazu (B, L, D)

Am Early departure between 5.30 and 7.00 am special bird watching private tour in different areas in the National Park (Argentinean side) with an ornithologist Iberian_Jabiuruguide for observation of rarest species and difficult to see. Land transfers with four wheel drive vehicle. The tour provide: binoculars, telescope, bird guide, a bottle of water and repellent. After this activity,  Private tour to experience the Argentine side of the magnificent Iguazu Falls in three parts:
Devil’s Throat: Before doing the other two paths, board a little train for a 4 km ride to Devil’s Throat Station surrounding the upper part of the Iguazu River.  From here, walk via a bridge walkway that leads to the balcony of the Devil’s Throat.
Upper Walk: A walk of 500 meters and lasts about 45 minutes seeing the Two Sisters, Bosetti, Adam and Eve, Bernabe Mendez, Mbiguá and San Martin falls from the upper part.  There’s a choice to rappel down or to take a 4 x 4 vehicle to the lower part of the falls.
Lower Path: With a professional tourist guide, walk approximately 1,300 meters along a foot path for about 1.5 hrs. viewing the falls from below.

Day 9 Iguazu (B, L, D)

Private tour to Brazilian National Park, there are panoramic views of the falls which are almost 3 km long and 270 cascades.  This tour takes a 1000 meter easy walk that lasts approximately 1 hr and starts from the Das Cataratas Hotel and finishes in the canyon of the Devil’s Throat.  (3hours tour) Entrance fee National Park Brazilian side included.
Lunch at Puerto Canoas Restaurant (no drinks) include. Bird Park, Reptiles and Butterflies (4 hours tour). Located at the entrance of the National Park of the Iguazu Falls on the Brazilian side, stands the native environment and sanctuary for more than 500 species of common and quite a few exotic birds.  The park is especially equipped to care for birds, maintaining their natural environment in an enclosed area for close viewing.  There are also special butterfly cages, as well as many reptile and alligator sanctuaries. Day 10 Iguazu – Buenos Aires (B)

Private transfer from hotel to airport. Flight to Buenos Aires. Upon arrival private transfer from domestic airport to Ezeiza International Airport. Both services with English speaking guide.
